Is the beat of my heart. This is my maximum pace that I can achieve.

Every year, before the start of the season, I do the testing at the Faculty of Sport. The purpose of testing is to check my physical condition and progress.

To make it easier for you to imagine what this means, we can compare the data of the maximum oxygen consumption VO2max, which was 70 ml of oxygen. The expected value of my peers is about 50 ml of oxygen. Another value that I could point out is the relative strength on the bicycle. I reached 420 W, which is approximately 6.5 W / kg. For an easier performance, I can say that Chris Froome drives his winning climbs with 7W / kg. The results of the measurements always depend on the day and the state of my body, but I can say that with this year’s results I am very satisfied. They give me a good basis for the start of the preparations and the competition season.

I started this year’s preparations already at the end of January, in the Canary Islands and Spain, and I have one more training camp in front me this months in Croatia. I like winter, but from the aspect of training, it doesn’t provide me good conditions that I would need. Therefore, every year in winter I go to a warm places on training camps. This year, I made the first preparation on Fuerta Ventura. I trained along with the Hungarians. The group is stronger and it fitted me, so that I can give my best effort out of my body and make a progress. The purpose of the trainings was to collect kilometers, with the most emphasis on the cycling base. In the first week I trained 31:32 hours. I made 400km on the bike, 76km on the run, and I swam 22600m. In the second week I trained 31:43 hours. I made 436km on the bike, 75km on the run, and I swam 20200m.

 

On my second preparations, I went to Spain to Termolinos. On the preparations I went with the domestic team of the Trisport club. Five of us: Jan Škrjanc, Domen Obrez, Tjaša Vrtačič and Ajda Ahačič. The whole preparations were made by my coach Grega Zore, so during the second week we were joined by swimmers from Stockholm. In the first week, we could be on the bike due to the good weather. In the second week, we made less kilometers on the bike due to bad weather, and we were swimming more.

The swimmers’ society was very welcomed, as it made it easier to push my body to the limit. The emphasis on these preparations was practically everywhere in the first week we collected kilometers, analyzed the technique, had some quick sprint training. While in the last week there were a lot more shorter, heavy training, where I could push my body over the edge. In two weeks, I did 33 training sessions and accumulated about 60 hours of training. Because I feel that the body is coming into the right form, I’m really looking forward to the races. In addition to all the trainings, I also fulfilled the commitment from the February mantra every day.

 

 

The Swedish athletes are good swimmers. But when it comes to basketball, we can talk about it. We did a little international competition and organized basketball game. No need to emphasize who won right? We nailed them with a score of 50: 8.

Without good food there is no energy right? I think we all know that. So, when we are in training camps we take care of our own food. Unfortunately there is no kitchen assistant. And this is my kitchen during the preparations.

In the end of the month I am going to one more preparations, with my domestic team. In Medulin, Croatia. Looking forward to spend some time close to home.

Izzivam Tokio 2020 – 200 na minuto! #izzivamtokyo2020

 

Bije moje srce. To je moj maksimalen utrip, ki ga lahko dosežem.

Vsako leto pred začetkom sezone, opravim testiranje na Fakulteti za šport. Namen testiranja je preveriti mojo telesno pripravljenost in napredek. Da si boste lažje predstavljali kaj to pomeni, lahko primerjamo podatek maksimalne porabe kisika VO2max, ki je bila 70 ml kisika. Pričakovana vrednost mojih vrstnikov je nekje 50 ml kisika. Druga vrednost, ki bi jo lahko izpostavil je relativna moč na kolesu. Dosegel sem 420 W, kar relativno pomeni 6,5 W/kg. Za lažjo predstavo lahko povem, da Chris Froome svoje zmagovite vzpone vozi z 7W/kg.  Rezultati meritev so vedno odvisni tudi od dneva in spočitosti telesa, vendar lahko rečem, da sem z letošnjimi rezultati zelo zadovoljen. Dajejo mi dobro podlago za začetek priprav in tekmovalne sezone.

 

Letošnje priprave sem začel že konec januarja, in sicer na Kanarskih otokih in v Španiji, pred mano so tudi priprave na Hrvaškem. Zimo imam sicer rad, vendar mi iz vidika treninga, ne omogoča dobrih pogojev, ki bi si jih želel. Zato se vsako leto pozimi odpravim na toplo, na različne priprave. Letos sem prve priprave opravil na Fuerta Venturi. Treniral sem skupaj z Madžari. Skupina je močnejša in to mi je ustrezalo, saj tako lahko dajem iz sebe maksimum in napredujem. Namen treningov je bil nabrati kilometrino, največ poudarka pa je bilo na kolesarski bazi. V prvem tednu sem treniral 31:32 ur. Naredil  sem 400km na kolesu, 76km na teku, odplaval pa sem 22600m. V drugem tednu sem treniral 31:43 ur. Naredil sem 436km na kolesu, 75km na teku, odplaval pa sem 20200m.

Na svoje druge priprave sem odšel v Španijo v Termolinos. Na priprave sem odšel z domačo skupino kluba Trisport. Odšlo nas je pet:  Jan Škrjanc, Domen Obreza, Tjaša Vrtačič, Ajda Ahačič. Celotne priprave je pripravil moj trener Grega Zore, zato so se nam v drugem tednu na pripravah pridružili še plavalci iz Stockholma. V prvem tednu smo zaradi boljšega vremena lahko malo več kolesarili. V drugem tednu  pa smo na kolesu zaradi slabega vremena naredili nekaj manj kilometrov in smo nekoliko več plavali in tekli. Družba švedskih plavalcev je bila zelo dobrodošla, saj sem tako svoje telo lažje spravil čez svoje meje. Poudarek na teh pripravah je bil praktično povsod v prvem tednu smo nabirali kilometrino, analizirali tehniko, imeli nekaj hitrih šprint treningov. Med tem ko je bilo v zadnjem tednu veliko več krajših težkih treningov, kjer sem mogel telo potisniti čez svoje meje. V dveh tednih sem tako naredil 33 treningov in nabral okoli 60 ur treninga. Ker čutim, da telo prihaja v pravo formo se tekem že zelo veselim. Poleg vseh treningov sem seveda vsak dan izpolnjeval tudi zavezo iz februarsko mantro.

 

Švedi so sicer dobri plavalci. Košarka pa jim ne gre tako dobro od rok😊 Privoščili smo si malce mednarodnega tekmovanja in se pomerili v košarki. Verjetno ni potrebno poudarjati kdo je zmagal ne? Zlomili smo jih z rezultatom 50:8.

Brez dobre hrane tudi energije ni, to vemo ne? Na pripravah za svojo hrano skrbimo kar sami, žal ni nobene pomočnice. Takole se kuha v Matevževi kuhinji na pripravah.
